2025 Competition – Rules


PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
This year we want your Flash Fiction on the theme of ‘Wild’.
The Entry fee is £5.00 per entry (maximum of three entries per person)
Prize – £50.00

The competition is open to anyone aged 16 or over at the time of entering.
All entrants must have a local postcode starting with ‘LL’.
All entries must be written in Welsh or English.
Entries must be creative fiction.
Stories aimed at children are not accepted.
Entries must be no more than 800 words (excluding the title).
The theme of the competition is ‘Wild’.
There is no minimum word requirement.
Entries must be the participants own, original work. They must not have been published, self-published or made public on social media or featured among the winners in any other competition.
Entries must not include photographs or illustrations.
All entries are judged anonymously, The participants name must not appear anywhere on the submission piece. The judges decision is final.

The closing date for the competition is 11:59 on August 31st.

The winner will be notified by email and will be announced at the Festival.
Entries should be sent as an email attachment with the name of the story in the ‘subject’ of the email.

To pay for the competition, please purchase the Flash Fiction Entry via the relevant Eventbrite Add-On when you are purchasing your festival ticket.
